Our History & Organization

From our launch in 1998 in Clarkes Town Trelawney, the  West  Jamaica  Conference Master Guide Association has grown and evolved over the years to meet the ever hanging needs of its mebers. The most significant of these changes came in 2008, marking the 10 year Anniversary. These changes involved;

  • the revision of the organiaion structure to empower the local parish organs,
  • the decentralization of the conduct of the training programs,
  • the establishment of local parish executives to administer their respective programs, and
  • a revision of the funding arrangements.
Today, the Association is administered by a committee comprising officers elected from its general embership as well as the Pathfinder and Aventurer Secretaries of the constituent parishes.
Executive Meetings are held monthly and General Meetings are held quarterly at venues rotatd among the respective parishes.
Officers, with the exception of the Pathfinder and Adventurer Representatives from respective Parish Federations, are elected to serve in two year tenures with a limit of two consecutive tenures in the same office.
